Queenstown Ski Season 2021

Ski season is almost upon us, with some ski fields opening as early as mid-June.

New Zealand is one of the few countries in the world right now where domestic travel is fully open to its residents – and just announced travel to New Zealand is open to Australia!

Ski Season Dates

The ski season in Queenstown and Wanaka runs from late June right through to the middle of October depending on the snow levels for the year.

Here are the recently announced dates for the Queenstown Ski Season:

The Remarkables – Opens 6 June 

  • Located in Queenstown
  • Open 7 days a week, subject to conditions
  • Scheduled Closing Date is Sunday 17 October

Coronet Peak – Opens Saturday 19 June 

  • Located in Queenstown
  • Open 7 days a week, subject to conditions
  • First Tracks from 8-9 am daily from 5 July 12 September
  • Night Ski on Wednesday, Friday and some Saturday nights in July and August
  • The scheduled closing date is Sunday 26 September

Currently on offer is an early bird 3 Peak Pass (The Remarkables, Coronet Peak, and Mt Hutt) which ends 30 April.

Cardrona – Opens 12 June 

  • Located in Wanaka
  • Children under 6 years and seniors over 75 ski for free
  • New terrain and chairlift open to Willows Basin
  • Free shuttles from the carpark for the 2021 season
  • The scheduled closing date is 17 October

Treble Cone –  Opens 26 June 

  • Located in Wanaka
  • Children under 6 years and seniors over 75 ski for free
  • The scheduled closing date is 26 September

There is an early bird ‘Two-Mountains, One Pass‘ for Cardrona and Treble Cone, which ends 30 April. So get in quick.

All operators are providing risk-free bookings with refunds provided should the impact of COVID interfere with your skiing plans.
